UCD Among 100 "Best Value Colleges"
DAVIS, CA - With the current economic crisis, a lot of high school students and their parents are worried about how they will pay for college. The Princeton Review has come out with its list of the best college deals and one of them is right here in Northern California.
The University of California, Davis was one of just a handful of California schools that made the Princeton Review's top 100 list for best bang for your buck for 2009. More specifically, the list ranks schools with high quality academics offered at reasonable prices.
The Princeton Review calls UC Davis a "vibrant campus community" that offers some of the "best undergraduate research opportunities anywhere."
The Review goes on to describe the academics offered at UC Davis are matched with substantial financial aid opportunities. In fact, more than half of the student body gets some kind of financial aid, with the average California resident attending UC Davis paying approximately $6,600 out-of-pocket expenses per year.
While UC Davis did make the top 100 list for best value colleges, it did not make the top 10 list. Four other California colleges did, however.
UC San Diego was ranked number 7 among best value public colleges. California Institute of Technology, Pomona and Stanford ranked number 8, 9 and 10, respectively, among private schools.
