SUISUN CITY - Harbor Square's first tenant opens for business today, and an entertainment lounge may be in the cards for the waterfront retail building on Main and Solano streets.

A Subway Sandwiches franchise on the Main Street side of the building will begin serving customers today. The franchise is owned by Amishi Patel.

Around the corner on Solano Street, workers are installing pipes and other infrastructure to allow Vacaville restaurant owner Bob Tooke to open Cast Iron Grill and Bar later this year.

Tonight, Suisun City businessman Demetrius Mance is asking the Suisun City Planning Commission for a conditional use permit to allow him to open Dimitri's Lounge by the Bay.

A public hearing on Mance's request will be held during a special meeting of the Planning Commission at 5:30 p.m. in the Suisun City Council chamber at 701 Civic Center Blvd.

'I am excited about this,' Mance said. 'It is going to be a definite attraction for Suisun City.'

Mance described his place as an upscale venue offering music that includes jazz, R&B, blues and country/western. There could also be dance lessons, a youth date night and evenings specifically tailored to seniors.
