FAIRFIELD - Three companies will each get the opportunity to run some of the seven resorts along Lake Berryessa's federally-owned shoreline.
Each company submitted a bid for a specific resort or resorts. The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation on Wednesday announced it has selected them to negotiate for contracts that could be awarded in coming months. Existing contracts with concessionaires are expiring.
'The proposals will provide Lake Berryessa visitors with improved facilities, enhanced recreational opportunities and a safe visitors experience at the lake,' Michael Finnegan, acting regional director of the Mid-Pacific region, stated in a press release.
Pensus Group LLC was picked to run Steele Park, Spanish Flat, Lake Berryessa Marina, Rancho Monticello and Putah Creek. The Arizona-based company is owned by David Maule-Ffinch.
Pleasure Cove Marina LLC was selected to run Pleasure Cove Marina. The firm, part of Arizona-based Forever Resorts, already runs the resort.
FX10 LLC was picked to run Markley Cove resort. The Winters-based company, owned by John and Linda Frazierm already runs the resort.
