Suisun City train station to add Greyhound bus stop

SUISUN CITY - Greyhound buses will soon stop again at the Suisun City train station, and passengers will be able to purchase bus tickets there as early as mid-August.
This is all part of a three-way deal between Greyhound Bus Lines, Rio Vista and Suisun City. The Suisun City Council told Suisun City Manager Suzanne Bragdon on Tuesday night to move forward with the deal.
Rio Vista Transit Coordinator John Andoh got the ball rolling in January when he started talking to Greyhound on how Rio Vista can take advantage of the company's new rural transit service program.
The program was created so Greyhound could partner with local rural transit agencies after the national bus line cut back or eliminated many of its smaller rural routes to save money.
Under the agreement, Greyhound will begin making four stops a day at the Suisun City train station so riders can connect with Rio Vista's Delta Breeze Route 50, which runs between Suisun City and Rio Vista five times a day.
'Greyhound has agreed to bring back its main-line service four times each day, which will connect with the Rio Vista bus,' Andoh said.
Andoh contacted Suisun City in April to determine whether the city was interested in leasing a portion of the train station so Rio Vista could establish a small transit information office that would sell tickets.
