The University of California Davis ranked 10th in Washington Monthly’s annual college rankings.
The publication, which offers its rankings as an alternative to the well-known rankings by U.S. News & World Report, put four University of California schools in its top 10, and six in its top 25. Taking the top three spots were UC Berkeley, UC San Diego and UCLA. UC Riverside took 16th place, while UC Santa Barbara ranked 21st.
“This is a proud day for the University of California,” UC president Mark G. Yudof wrote Wednesday in an announcement of the rankings.
The schools were rated on recruiting and graduating low-income students, research and encouraging students to give back to their country.
