Vaca council backs new home construction

VACAVILLE - The City Council has endorsed a plan to build 201 houses in southeastern Vacaville.

Developer D.R. Horton got the nod Tuesday to build the homes as part of the second phase of the Southtown subdivision, which is located between Newcastle Drive and Vanden Road.

The subdivision's first phase of about 300 homes is already under construction. Horton is in the process of applying for city permits to build the third phase of 200 homes.
