FAIRFIELD - It's the kind of job children probably dream about.

The Jelly Belly Candy Co. has launched a new promotion that will run through mid-2010, offering the winner a chance to join fourth-generation candy man and company CEO Herman Rowland Sr. for a day at the helm of the company.

The 'Be The Big Bean' contest draws participants in through a Web site offering simple games with Jelly Belly themes.

'In an exaggerated sort of fun way, you're getting a chance to run the company virtually,' said Rob Swaigen, vice president of marketing. 'In the factory making candy, for example, that is essentially the different tasks boiled down to the 'I Love Lucy' assembly line-type thing.'

The winner and three guests will be flown to San Francisco and then travel to Fairfield to spend a day with Rowland in the factory, tasting new flavors in development, trying their hand panning jelly beans in the factory and reviewing packaging concepts.
