CALISTOGA, FAIRFIELD – Napa County-based sparkling water maker Crystal Geyser has leased warehouse facilities in Fairfield.
Crystal Geyser signed a three-year lease on just over 70,000 square feet in the Solano County city. The company has had warehouse space in American Canyon.
The company, a subsidiary of Nestle Water, is also planning a sprawling new sparkling water bottling facility near Orland in Glenn County.
In November Nestle closed down the Calistoga Water bottling facility at the same plant, a blow to the town of Calistoga. The plant had operated under several owners since 1924. Crystal Geyser has been bottled at the site for about 30 years.
Crystal Geyser also owns 26 acres of vacant land in Solano County for possible future development.
Acquired for a project that didn’t come to fruition, the property has been retained by Crystal Geyser for a future plant producing new products, said Fairfield Economic Development Manager Curt Johnston.
“They’ve had opportunities to sell but are adamant about developing it themselves,” said Mr. Johnston.
